Lemon, also known as Citrus Limon is a fruit; a species of small evergreen tree in the flowering plant family Rutaceae. This species is generally native to South Asia, primarily North Eastern India. It’s majorly its juice that is used for culinary and cleaning purposes. The pulp and rind can also be used for the purpose of cooking and baking. Lemon juice, i.e. the juice of the fruit of lemon tree, is 5% to 6% citric acid with a pH of around 2.2, this gives it a sour taste. The sour taste of lemon helps it find itself as a key ingredient in drinks and food such as lemonade and lemon meringue pie.
